The Works will complete the concrete pouring around 6th March, with time to clear out of the river and finish off, commissioning should commence on 13th March with the course re-opening provisionally on the 21st March.
BUILDING work to upgrade the facilities at Holme Pierrepont's slalom course to Olympic training standards should be finished by February, officials said today. Work is due to get underway on a major upgrade to the white water course at Holme Pierrepont making it a world-leading sporting facility. The £700,000 revamp funded by Sport England and developed extensively by the British Canoe Union has been given the go ahead by Nottinghamshire County Council and will see significant improvement both for recreational use and elite canoeing sports. Training Opportunities at Holme Pierrepont
The official Nations Training programme for the 2009 European Canoe Slalom Championships will be held between Saturday 23rd May and Wednesday 27th May 2008
Teams wishing to train at all other times outside of these events will need to request
and pay for additional ‘Exclusive Use’ or ‘Casual Use’ training session.
The BCU Canoe Slalom Committee is currently planning their Competition Calendar
for the 2009 season and it is anticipated that events will be made available for Visiting Teams and Competitors to train and compete at Holme Pierrepont, prior to these Championships.
This calendar will be published by 29th November 2008.
