The British Canoe Union as part of its management of the organisation of the event is looking to appoint a Project Manager to the Event Management Team to deliver certain aspects of the event including:  Venue Management Planning, Logistical Venue Planning, Venue Volunteer Management, Security, Car Parking, Entry and Exit Routes. 20 Jan 09  Sports Visitor Visa
If you require a UK Visa you will be able to apply for a Sports Visitor Visa to take part in a one-off sports event or a series of sports events as a competitor. Coaches, officials, event volunteer or support staff accompanying the sportsperson would also qualify. If you are an athlete coming to train in the UK you may also apply for this type of visa, provided you are not going to stay in the UK for longer than six months. More>

BUILDING work to upgrade the facilities at Holme Pierrepont's slalom course to Olympic training standards should be finished by February, officials said today. The £700,000 project is designed to help give Britain's canoeists an opportunity to train there in the build-up to the London 2012 Olympics. More>
