GB Slalom C2 Pair win Bronze at Oceania Open

Slalom C2 pair, Dan Goddard and Colin Radmore, won Bronze at the weekend’s Oceania Open, in Australia.

The pair finished in 114.32, just behind Slovakia’s three time Olympic Champions, Pavel and Peter Hochschorner, in 111.60. The Hochschorners were beaten to the Gold by fellow countrymen Peter and Ladislav Skanter, with a time of 109.03.

Goddard and Radmore began competing together last year; they won team Silver at the European Championships in Nottingham in May, followed by team Bronze at the World Championships in Seu de Urgell, in September. This is their first individual medal at an international competition.

The Oceania Open took place at the Penrith Whitewater Stadium in Australia; the venue used in the 2000 Sydney Olympics Australia; during 12th – 21st February. More information can be found at http://www.oceania.canoe.org.au/
